TweetFlix is the largest twitter powered movie review site on the the web.

What is the point of Tweetflix?

The point is to create an environment where everyday movie goers, casual movie watchers and film snobs alike get together and talk movies and then Tweetflix takes all the reviews and one by one assigns a value from 1 to 100 and creates the overall film rating. Why are we doing this? Because sometimes critics and casual movie goers don’t see eye to eye. Tweetflix is trying to find a better balance.

Tweetflix is a a service for casual movie goers, film snobs, critics, and movie lovers to review movies and explore just exactly what the masses think of a movie and assign a % between 1 and 100. Movie goers write “reviews” in 140 characters or less via twitter. The reviews are posted to your profile, your blog, or where ever else to might have your tweets posted and of course are sent to all of your followers and of course are searchable on twitter search.

Do I need anything to use Tweetflix?

Nope. Everyone is free to check out all the reviews and check out the latest pulse in near real time on each movie and most of the cast and crew. So to get an idea of what people are saying about a movie before you actually go see it check it out on TweetFlix.com. Now if you really want to get the most out of Tweetflix you have to first get a twitter account. Then find your favorite movie or LEAST favorite movie and let the world know what you think.
*Of course, racism, sexism, and other ism’s more than strongly discouraged that not tolerated at all.

How often does Tweetflix update?

Well there are two answers here.

1. If the review is posted directly on Tweetflix.com it’s updated in real time.

2. If the review is posted on twitter it depends. It can be as fast as 5 seconds and as long as 1 hour depending on popularity of the film, cast or crew. With the longest update taking 2 days for movies or cast and crew that aren’t that popular.

Who can read my reviews?

Everyone that follows you on twitter and everyone who sees your review on Tweetflix.com.

Can I edit a review once I post it?

You sure can. Just head on over to your twitter account and delete and repost on either twitter or the Tweetflix movie page. Or of course if you use tweetie or tweetdeck feel free.

Why are accounts suspended?

Tweetflix strongly prohibits spam of any kind, we monitor this algorithmically and will suspend account for any spam like tendencies. Good rule of thumb, don’t be a jerk. Also as noted before don’t be rude, hate and most ism’s namely sexism, racism are not tolerated.

Who?

TweetFlix was developed by two guys over the course of a few months. We wanted to make a site that actually poled not just movie critics but people and their thoughts on any given movie in as near to real time as possible.

Why?

Did you ever notice the difference between the fandemonium a movie like Transformers: Revenge of Fallen strikes up and the shiteous reviews it gets ? See that just doesn’t make sense and that was our motivation.

Critics and fans don’t always see eye to eye and in turn alot of good movies might are looked by the masses. TweetFlix.com is a destination for people to see what the masses are thinking about any given movie in near real time.

How?

Well without getting into all the tech talk we basically take an ever growing library of movies and then we reach out to twitter via an api and search for people talking about the specific movie. We then use our patent pending software to create a score based on the specific tweet talking about the movie and “score it” between 1 and 100.
